Frequently asked questions

Common questions people ask before using this tool.

How do I convert a Word document to PDF online?

Upload your .doc or .docx file and download the converted PDF. PDF preserves your layout, fonts, and formatting for sharing, printing, and archiving — ensuring your document looks identical on every device regardless of which fonts are installed.

Will fonts and images look the same in the PDF?

Most conversions preserve layout accurately. However, custom fonts not embedded in the Word document may be substituted in the PDF. To guarantee pixel-perfect results, embed fonts in Word (File → Options → Save → Embed fonts) before uploading.

Is my document stored after conversion?

Uploaded files are processed and converted; they are not permanently stored on our servers. For confidential contracts, NDAs, or personal information, use offline tools like Microsoft Word's built-in PDF export or Adobe Acrobat on your own machine.

What is the maximum file size I can convert?

The tool handles typical business documents efficiently. Very large Word files with many embedded high-resolution images may be slow to process. If you hit limits, remove unnecessary images or split the document into sections before converting.

Can I convert a password-protected Word file to PDF?

Password-protected Word files cannot be converted without providing the password. Remove the password protection in Word first (Review → Restrict Editing → Stop Protection or File → Info → Protect Document), then upload the unprotected file for conversion.

Why is the PDF formatting different from the Word original?

Differences usually come from fonts not being embedded, complex table layouts, tracked changes that were not accepted, or comments being included. Before converting, accept all tracked changes, hide comments, and ensure all fonts are available on the conversion server or embedded in the file.
