Frequently asked questions

Common questions people ask before using this tool.

How do I convert a PDF to Word (DOCX) online?

Upload your PDF file and download the DOCX file. This works best for text-based PDFs — documents that were originally created digitally (not scanned). The converter extracts text, formatting, and layout to create an editable Word document.

Why does my converted Word file look different from the PDF?

PDF is a fixed-layout format; conversion can reflow text, tables, and columns. Complex multi-column layouts, unusual fonts, headers and footers, and decorative elements may not convert perfectly. Edit the DOCX after download to restore the formatting you need.

Is PDF to Word conversion accurate for scanned PDFs?

Scanned PDFs contain images of text, not selectable text, so a basic converter cannot extract the content. Scanned PDFs require OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to recognize the text before it can be exported to Word. If conversion produces blank or garbled content, your PDF is likely a scan.

Can I edit the converted Word document freely?

Yes. Once you have the DOCX file, you can open and edit it in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice, or any compatible word processor. You may need to adjust formatting, fix reflow issues, or re-apply styles after conversion.

Is my PDF secure during conversion?

Files are processed for conversion and not permanently stored on our servers. For highly sensitive documents — legal contracts, financial reports, medical records — use offline conversion tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word's native PDF open feature, or on-premises software approved by your organization.

What is the maximum PDF size this tool supports?

The tool handles most standard documents (up to approximately 10MB). Very large PDFs with many high-resolution images may be slow to convert. If you need to convert a large document, try splitting it into chapters or sections and converting each separately.
